Road Running

  • Last ride

We have made it back to OKC. We look forward to seeing all our friends at church tomorrow. All of us had a great experience, and we learned a lot of different things in SD and on the roads. Ask a FAITH Rider about Sturgis and how God worked. As of Friday night, 7231 people were shared with. 1123 people prayed for salvation. Kristi Janssen from Vashon, WA won the Harley. In 5 years she is the first person to win who also prayed to receive Christ under the tents. I wonder if she thought her life could be changed in such a way on a trip to Sturgis.

As I drove through the city to a wifi spot to write this I passed a sad scene. A woman was lying in the middle of MacArthur surrounded by police and EMT's. Looked like she was hit by a car. I wonder if she was saved? If she dies tonight from her injuries will she go to heaven? I am not sure how many times I gave my 3 minute testimony this week, but I know I am not done. This past week my mission was to go to Sturgis. It was my job to be the "chase angel"(Thank you Kristen and Tammy.) It was a pleasure to have all their backs. Next week and every week after my mission is to carry on at home also.

When I left last week I had 2 prayer requests:

    1. I asked God to allow me to be a part of something that brought people to a saving knowledge of Him.

    2. I asked God to give me the opportunity to lead just 1 person to Him.

He answered both of those in a big way. Kevin from Montana got saved Wednesday in Rapid City. God allowed me to be a part of something that changed lives for eternity! There were over 1000 Kevins in Sturgis this past week. Please pray for their discipleship as they are contacted and followed up on.

Lastly, GET INVOLVED!!!! I am, and I never want to hang out on the bench. Not only was I not in the game, I wasn't ready to play until now. This trip was the first time I ever witnessed to someone I did not have some form of relationship with. This was the first time I walked up to strangers and invited them to come to something like our tent. God stretched me. Took me waaaaay out of my comfort zone. GUESS WHAT!?! I loved it! We all did!!!

Thank you for reading my ramblings. Encourage those who serve on our church. They need it.

  • going home..............

After 14 hours of hard riding last night we made it to Salina, Kansas. Thank the Lord for safe travels for our group the enitre way. We have had 2 FAITH Riders form other Oklahoma Chapters go down. Thankfully no one was injured severly. Please pray for Ron, Ed, and their families as they recover from their injuries. We haven't heard the final numbers from South Dakota yet. The tent will be open until and going until 11am when the bike is given away. Continue praying for lives to be changed.

What a blessing to have been involved in this ministry. God has stretched us all and grown me in a way I never knew possible. Before this trip I had never witnessed to someone "cold". Meaning I had never really shared my faith in a salvation format with an unsaved person I did not already know. What an experience..................Not only did God grow us, but he allowed our group to form a bond and comraderie. Please pray for us as we experience those lows after a great and successful trip such as this. We should be home sometime this afternoon.

  • Our night in Sturgis

Last night we had the priveledge to work the tent in Sturgis alongside a group from Lifeway Christian Bookstores in Nashville, TN. In the 4 hours we were there 41 people made decisions for Christ. We had an absolute blast. Part of the enjoyment of this whole thing is just talking to people. Starting conversations because of our tattoos, the patches on our vests, or because of the advertisements on their t-shirts. Please click on this link and watch the interview with Isaac: www.sturgisbikegiveaway.com  Isaac is 14 years old and from Bethany. He came with his Grandfather. On his day in the tent he spoke with 16 folks and 13 came to Christ. God has used this whole week greatly in our personal lives, but the TRUE blessing is seeing that God is changing lives right in front of us. Icame here pretty skeptical that we could evangelize folks at a bike a rally. It happened! God used me and all my brothers and sisters.

Personally I wish I could stay here and go back to the tent in Sturgis! I didn't get to lead anyone to Christ last night, but some of the folks I coaxed into coming into the tent did pray for salvation. Please pray for the folks who prayed this week. Pray that their decisions were real. The work is by no means complete. The Dakota Baptist Convention will be contacting each person who prayed in the weeks to come. Their contact information will be given to a church in their area so they can be followed up on. Also their info will be sent to the FAITH Rider who prayed with them so we can also follow up.
