Micah was born in Sweetwater, Texas, and grew up in Oklahoma City. He completed his Bachelor's Degree from Oklahoma Baptist University where he met his wife, Taylor, and where he also played baseball. He also has a Master of Divinity from Southwestern Theological Seminary and has sensed God leading him to serve in church ministry since he became a Christian at the age of 15.
Micah and Taylor were married in 2005, and have two children named Navy and Foster. They love spending time outside and sharing a good meal and laughs with family and friends.
Sarah Hagar is a native of Moore, Oklahoma. She gave her life to Christ as a teenager while at church camp. Several years later she felt God calling her to vocational ministry. Sarah was given the opportunity to help in children’s ministry as a thirteen-year-old girl and has been working with kids ever since!
She attended college at the University of Central Oklahoma in Edmond, where she earned a Bachelor of Science in Special Education. After graduating from college, she served as a semester missionary in Tahoe City, CA, through the North American Mission Board and then on staff at First Baptist Church, Tahoe City, California. From California, Sarah headed to seminary at New Orleans Baptist Theological Seminary. While there, she served as children’s minister at Westside Baptist Church in Ponchatoula, Louisiana. After earning her Master of Arts in Christian Education, Sarah served at First Baptist Church in Lawton before coming to Council Road.
In September 2015, Sarah met Joe Hagar. They were married on April 8, 2017. Sarah enjoys quiet nights at home, reading, craft projects, watching movies, playing games with friends, and time spent with family.
Sarah’s life verse is Jeremiah 29:11-13, “'For I know the plans I have for you,’ declares the Lord, ‘plans to prosper you and not to harm you, plans to give you hope and a future. Then you will call on Me and come and pray to Me, and I will listen to you. You will seek Me and find Me when you seek Me with all your heart.”
Dondra accepted Jesus Christ as her personal Savior when she was eight years old. She was raised in a Christian home and grew up in the church. Even though she was young, it was a very real experience. She heartily believes the statement, “The longer I serve him, the sweeter he grows.”She enjoys doing crafts, and her favorite thing to do is to spend time with family. They love to play games, sit outside by the fire pit, and to shop! Anytime she can spend time with her five grandchildren is a grand time! Dondra and her husband, Max, are both from west Texas and have lived in the Oklahoma City area since 1989. They have three adult married children.Dondra has served in the Children’s Ministry since 2003, and says she has found her calling working in the Children/Preschool Department at Council Road. Her duties include organizing the volunteer calendar for Kids Klub, helping with curriculum, clerical duties, and the planning of children/preschool activities.
Claree was born and raised in Las Cruces, New Mexico, where she attended Temple Baptist Church. She met her husband, Stephen, while attending New Mexico State University, and they moved to Oklahoma City in 1980. They have a thirty-year-old son.
She accepted Christ in a local Nazarene church upon the invitation of her neighbor. She also attended Council Road as her son attended daycare here. She loves horses, horseback riding, and making mosaic tables. She has a collection of house plants and moves all sixty-five in and out every spring and fall. Claree also has experience driving 18-wheelers and connecting 48-foot trailers, as well as driving 30-foot bobtails. She also has a collection of autographs including John Wayne, Jane Mansfield, Wayne Newton, Ralph Edwards, and Bob Barker.
Claree has worked as the Capstone Ministry Assistant since 2006 and loves her job and serving with the people in that area.
Landry Franks is the High School Pastor at Council Road Baptist Church and has been on staff since August 2012. He graduated from UCO with a Philosophy degree and currently attends Southern Seminary. During college, Landry served as a student intern at Council Road and also met his wife Kayla.
Kayla has served as the Administrator for the Student Ministry since December of 2016. She graduated from Southern Nazarene University, has a masters degree in counseling, and is a licensed counselor.

Matt McLain grew up in Yukon, OK, where he and his twin sister Melissa were actively involved in the local community and attended Council Road. In 2014, he graduated Suma Cum Laude from Oklahoma Christian University with a degree in Pulpit Ministry. He also played on the men’s soccer team where he was a four-year starter and received several NCAA honors. He has also been actively involved in FCA and in reaching out to student athletes across the OKC metro area. He began seminary in 2015.
On July 25, 2015, Matt married his high school sweetheart, Sarah Massey. Sarah also grew up in Yukon and is a 4th grade teacher at Lakeview Elementary School.
From a young age, Matt has maintained a passion to help others grow in their relationship with God and is excited to serve as the Middle School Pastor. He believes that every student who walks through Council Road’s doors has a unique story and has a need for God in his or her life. Matt is committed to preparing students to be followers of Christ.
Matthew “Bear” McAfee has been a member of Council Road his entire life. He was saved by Jesus and baptized in grade school, then surrendered to ministry in high school. Bear is soon to be married to Miss Clytee Burchett, who serves as the Grade School Coordinator here at Council Road.
Bear graduated from the University of Oklahoma with a degree in Communication in May of 2016. He began serving as the Young Adult Pastor in June of 2017 and plans to begin seminary in the fall of 2017.

Vickey is an Oklahoma City girl who fell in love with her Bible in college and has never been the same! She considers being taught how to personally study and apply the Bible as an unparalleled gift she will be compelled to pass on for the rest of her life. Her love for God’s word, combined with a degree in Interpersonal Communication, has fueled her ministry as an inspirational speaker, Bible teacher, author, writer, and disciple-maker of women.Vickey married her college sweetheart, Brian, and they have been deeply entrenched in ministry at CRBC for over thirty years. They’ve served in multiple areas of our church and together have enjoyed teaching and discipling young adults. They have two married, young adult children, one precious granddaughter, and a puppy who thinks he’s a person. Vickey loves getting lost in a good story and traveling the world, but she loves coming home to enjoy her people and her puppy even more.
Howard and Karen were both raised in Christian homes and accepted Christ at an early age. They have been members of CRBC for 48 years. Howard taught high school connection classes for years and now works with Karen in the kindergarten class. Karen has taught kindergarten for 45 years. They are Department Directors for Senior Adults and lead a Community Group on Sunday nights.Howard worked as a chemist at Dayton Tire for 35 years, and Karen worked as a secretary at Piedmont Middle School for 25 years.They love spending time with their family and have three sons, who all accepted Christ at CRBC. They have three daughters-in-law and four grandchildren. They enjoy spending time at their condo in Angel Fire, New Mexico, and play golf, hike and ski there.They are excited to have the opportunity to work with the Senior Adults at CRBC. They love this church that they have been able to serve in for many years!
