The Spiritual Formation Team is responsible for all age-graded discipleship programming: Children (Preschool and Grade School), Students (Middle School and High School), Young Adults (approximately 18-30 years), Median Adults (approximately 31-50 years), Encore (approximately 51-65 years) and Capstone (approximately 66+ years). While only Christ transforms lives, people tend to get stuck in their spiritual growth if there is no intentional process to move them. The ministry model for Council Road encourages movement from the big room (worship center), to the classroom (Sunday morning group), to the family room (small groups), with the intention of serving together in Gospel causes.
We have four celebration times on Sunday morning. At 9 a.m. and 10:15 in the chapel, we celebrate Christ in a more traditional way with hymns and praise choruses. At 10:15 a.m. and 11:30 a.m. in Maroney Hall, we celebrate with worship bands taking the lead.
The portal into the life and ministry of our church is the Sunday morning group (link to comprehensive list). The emphasis in the classroom is on connecting people to God’s word, to each other and into small group life. We have Sunday morning groups for all ages. Sunday Connection Groups
Our small groups meet throughout the week in homes all around the metro. They follow a variety of schedules and formats. We believe the small group is the best place for sustained life change to occur. Involvement in a small group is the key to connect relationally, grow spiritually and explore ways to share the love of Christ by serving others. We seek to develop environments where nobody stands alone, to provide places where the issues and challenges of life are faced together and to form groups where we care for one another.
There will never be a way for the staff to minister personally to everyone in our church. However, by pushing responsibility for ministry out and away from the staff and into the hands of our group leaders, we become so much more effective and our reach for the Gospel so much greater.
If your “next step in the journey” is to join or lead a small group, contact Todd Tamura at email@example.com for more information.
