Opportunity to Serve at PC West

We have a great opportunity to serve some of the people in our community, beginning with the football team at Putnam City West High School.  It is pretty shocking to learn that a lot of the kids don’t know when or where they will eat again.  Last season, 19 players suffered broken bones from malnutrition. If your Connection Class or Community group feels led to help in CRBC’s ministry to this school, here are some options:

 A. The Cause Team feeds the football team at the Cube every Thursday night after practice.  We need departments to sign up to do the following:  provide the food, prepare it, serve it and clean it up.  We need you to “own” one of these Thursday nights!  Preparation would need to be for 100 people.

 B. We want to provide a meal to the players before their Friday night games.  Right now, the coaches are making sandwiches for the players before the games so they will have something to eat.  If we could free up the coaches before game time, it would be a huge blessing.  We need our Community groups and Connection departments to provide the food, prepare it, serve it and clean it up at the school.   We need “real food” - something besides pizza and sandwiches.  Lasagna, roast beef, BBQ chicken, etc, would be another huge blessing.

 C. PC West needs concession stand workers and ticket takers for the J.V. and freshman games on Thursday nights.

 D. We need monetary donations.  Make checks payable to PC West High School.  We also need gift cards to Wal Mart that the coaches can just give to the kids for food and clothing.

 E. We need “Fans in the Stands” for the Friday night games for the PC West side of the stadium.  This would be a great connection class or community group date!

If you can assist with any of the above, please contact Beth Dempsey dempsey@councilroad.org or Michael Butler butler@councilroad.org at 789.3175.
