If you are around Council Road very long at all, you will see that we have a world focus. We believe that when it comes to the Great Commission, every member is a missionary.
Our church has taken special interest in partnering with SBC missionaries in places like Peru, the Middle East, Turkey, various countries in South Asia, Mexico and Africa. Every few weeks you will notice that we are sending another team of short term missionaries somewhere in the world. One result of this approach is that many of our church members are now serving overseas as full-time foreign missionaries.
In addition to opportunities that exist to share the gospel on the foreign mission field, we believe that making disciples begins with sharing the gospel of Jesus Christ, in each of our personal spheres of influence. This happens frequently within our community and progresses outwardly into our nation, then ultimately beyond our borders.
We have adopted an Acts 1:8 strategy to love the world to Christ by starting in our own community and working out from there. During the year we participate together in "LP2C" (loving people to Christ) opportunities to reach out into our local community with the love of Christ. For example, our church has recently built a multi-million dollar activities facility called the CUBE that is open free of charge to our community. We have an ongoing commitment to missions within our community, at home (on campus) and globally. At CRBC, when we say we believe every member is a missionary, we mean that this is a part of what it means to be “on the journey”.
